Requirement/Grading

1. Attendance and participation (30%):



This includes attendance, whether the preview before class is sufficient and the degree of active participation in class discussions. Please also actively participate in the midterm and final reports of other groups.



 



2. Mid-Term Report (30%: 20% assessed by the professor; 5% assessed by your team members; and 5% assessed by other groups):



The midterm report should cover the following items:



(a) The prior patent(s) to which you are referring;



(b) the process by which you created your innovation and reinvention;



(c) the differences between your reinvention and the prior patent(s);



(d) the patent specification for your reinvention; and



(e) the logo or brand name for your reinvention.



 



3. Final Report (40%: 20% assessed by the professor; 10% assessed by external experts; 5% assessed by your team members; and 5% assessed by other groups):



The final report should cover the following items:



(a) The prior patent(s) to which you are referring;



(b) the process by which you created your innovation and reinvention;



(c) the differences between your reinvention and the prior patent(s);



(d) the patent specification for your reinvention;



(e) the logo or brand name for your reinvention; and



(f) the business plan for your IP 3.0/4.0 proposal, such technology transfer, IP licensing, IP franchising, using IPs as collateral or securitization.
