Students are required to have:
-Interests in education systems, internationalization, or development aid in education.
-Willingness to engage actively in group discussions and workshops.
Session 1: Understanding Internationalization in Education
- Introduction to internationalization in education: concepts, trends, and significance in a globalized world
- Key drivers and challenges of internationalization in education (e.g., mobility, partnerships, cultural exchange)
- Case studies: Successful internationalization initiatives in higher education across Asia
Session 2: Exploring the field of ODA in Education
- Overview of ODA in the education sector: history, principles, and major players (e.g., UNESCO, OECD, NGOs)
- Analysis of the role of ODA in achieving SDG 4 (Quality Education)
-Case studies: Examples of ODA projects in education sector for developing countries
-Challenges and lessons learned from implementing ODA projects
Session 3: Collaborative Research & Discussion Workshop
-Team activity: Participants choose a topic from Session 1 (internationalization) or Session 2 (ODA) of their interests. Topics may include:
◼Designing an international education partnership program.
◼Proposing an ODA initiative to address a concurrent educational challenge.
-Participants as a team develop a research or project proposal based on their chosen topic.
-Each team deliver group presentations of research/project proposals with peers and share feedbacks.
-Participants will be guided with a discussion on how these ideas can be implemented or further developed in real-world contexts.
