Requirement/Grading

The total score of 100 points will be distributed as follows:

  • Design Project 1 (20%)

  • Design Project 2 (25%)

  • Design Project 3 (30%)

Details about the design projects will be announced in class. For each design project, teams are required to submit the following after the final presentation:

    • A two-page design report detailing the design motivations and outcomes.

    • A 1-2 minute short video showcasing the final design.

  • Introducing Novel AI Agent or Robot Designs (25%)

Each team must present 3-5 (exact number TBD) interesting AI agents or robot designs over the semester. These can include existing products (e.g., Japan’s “Big Clapper”) or design projects showcased at academic conferences like HRI, RO-MAN, or CHI. Presentations should meet the following criteria:

    • Duration: 8-12 minutes per presentation.

    • Frequency: Teams may present only 1 design per week.
