Requirement/Grading

attendance, participation, performance*, homework**, tests***

*Performance includes assigned individual prepared speeches (at least 3), two mock conference group presentations, and numerous in-class interpretation practices.

**Homework refers to speeches students have to deliver in class or assignments to hand in. Since interpreting involves oral delivery, students are expected to write their own scripts (for delivery) based on reading or listening materials.

***Tests include two tasks of lab work in which students demonstrate their mastery of skills required for an interpreter, and one final 'real-life’interpretation activity.

Grading: Attendance 15%

              Performance 40%

              Tests 20%

              Homework 25%
