Requirement/Grading

Grades for the course will be based on class participation (30%) and a report that requires a class oral presentation (70%). Students will be expected to attend class consistently, be well-prepared, and participate actively in class discussions.

  1. Class Contribution (30%): Attendance rate, responses to questions, or expressing opinions.

  2. Individual Report: In principle, each student will be assigned one chapter from the second textbook, “Global Housing Markets: Crises, Policies, and Institutions,” based on the student’s nationality to introduce the housing market of his or her country or neighboring countries. Students should extract key points from the assigned chapters, collect the latest data or articles from the internet or the library’s electronic journal database, and apply the concepts taught in the course to analyze the real estate market.

         (1) An oral presentation with PowerPoint slides is required (30%).

         (2) The report in Word or PDF format is required (40%).
