Requirement/Grading

Course Requirements

This is a very small class; hence, your participation is necessary for it to be successful.  In general, attendance and participation will be accounted for in your final grade. You may bring beverages into class but please refrain from eating (it’s distracting).  Feel free to use laptop and/or smart devices – as long as you have confidence in prompt and effective participation in class.

This is an English-taught course.  Grading, however, is not based on the fluency of English speaking.  It is the willingness to express in English that matters.

Evaluation

The final exam will be the primary determinant for your grade (75%).  As already mentioned, participation and attendance may affect your grade (25%).   Participation and attendance also include weekly BEFORE-CLASS questions raising and responding (see NCCU moodle).

PhD-level students are required to write an extra 3,500-word essay (analyzing an court case that is delivered within 3 years.)
