Requirement/Grading

Evaluation:




  • Participation: 10 percent

  • Midterm 1: 30 percent

  • Midterm 2: 30 percent

  • Paper (or term project presentation): 30 percent



 



Paper and term project proposal presentation:



Students are required to present an academic paper from the reading list, which will be distributed in the first class. Depending on the number of the students, the students can form a group. The timeline of the schedule is as follows:



Week 9: Choose the paper from the reading list



Week 12: Submit the progress report (draft of presentation slides)



Week 14-17: Presentations



Based on the paper presentations, the students can present their own term projects. The replication of the academic papers could be proposed as a term project.



 



Class participation:



All students should submit a report for each presentation. The previous and next (groups of) students are required to ask the questions during the presentation. Submission of the report and questions will be added up to determine the score of participation.
