The final grade of this course is composed of the following 5 assessment tasks:

1.Participation (including attendance and quality of class discussion) 20%

2. Individual case written report (four cases) 20%

3. Group project (including group presentation and one written group report) 25%

4. Group project peer evaluation 5%

5. One closed-book exam  30%

Individual Case Report

One written report for each case (mainly your written responses to the questions in each case).  Please use Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.5cm) margins all around for the text, including headers and footnotes. The maximum length for each report is 2 page. Please also hand in the hard copy of your individual case report in class. 

Group Project

The group project is composed of one written report, one group presentation and one peer evaluation. Each group is composed of 4- 5 students. Grades will be based on individual contributions to the group project (please specify group members’ contributions in the written report). 

Topic: Introduce any company founded/incorporated after 2000. The group project is expected to include, but not limited to, the following contents:

1. The background of the company (name, location, products/services etc.)

2. Why do we need to know this company?

3. What are the key management practices/issues of this company (Please incorporate and apply those concepts introduced in this course)? For example, students could focus on any topic introduced in this course, such as organizational culture (Ch8).

Please use Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.5cm) margins all around for the text, including headers and footnotes. The maximum length for the paper is 20 pages, including all tables, figures/diagrams, and references. Plagiarism is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Late submission for the written report is NOT ACCEPTABLE . Please submit the hard copy of your written report on Dec. 29  2017.

Presentation for 15 minutes and Q&A for 5 minutes

(3.) Group project peer evaluation 

Each group member will fill in a form after the group presentation.
