Lecture 1: From cinema of attraction to cinema of effects
This lecture explores how the experimental techniques of Sergey Eisenstein challenged classical Hollywood narratives and were integrated into mainstream contemporary American cinema. The lecture will also include big-budget Korean cinema and the phenomenon of streaming services, highlighting how contemporary platforms extend these formalist approaches.
