Topic: On Language and Politics in Southeast Asia

In this lecture, Southeast Asia provides a vivid example of the ways in which language and politics are deeply intertwined. It will focus on how government policies and educational systems shape which languages thrive or decline, and how language itself becomes a vital arena for negotiating identity and power.
