年過五十的Agoston在能源工廠工作了大半輩子，卻不幸在公司大裁員中失去了飯碗。懷著渺茫的希望，他穿越東歐希望找到一份工作，並 實現自己想要釣到大魚的願望。來到波羅地海，卻發現自己除了被挾 著海鹽的風吹透的寒冷外，一無所有。這趟旅程上發生一連串越發怪異的事件，他遇到了善良的女人、不懷好意的俄羅斯舊識，還有一支 被做成標本、天生沒有耳朵的兔子。所有際遇就像是海浪一般，拍打 在沙灘上，在慢慢退潮，卻不會終結。

Agoston, a family man in his fifties, sets off to wander through Eastern Europe with the hope of finding a job and fulfilling his dream of catching a big fish. He ends up in the Baltics, with nothing but sea-salt and wind behind his collar. His journey pulls him deeper and deeper into a swell of bizarre events to finally meet a friendly woman, a Russian acquaintance with unfriendly intensions and a sad earless stuffed rabbit. Waves spread over the sand, and retreat slowly.
