Regarding class participation, the first requirement is to attend the class on time and be attentive. During the lecture, unless I invite you to do so (in particular during small group discussions), you will refrain from checking your mobile or computer. This is not only basic politeness for myself and our guest lecturers, but also for your own return on investment for spending high education fees.
